The Optimistic Bites with Angela Wick

Last year I named the Top Ten BAs on LinkedIn and interviewed seven of them before taking a “health break.” While I was absent, my good friend Paula Bell interviewed Dr. Mike White in my absence. I completed the task this year by recording shows with Angela Wick and Jamie Champagne. Today’s blog is about Angela Wick. I have known Angela the longest of all the Top Ten BAs. I met her when she was starting as a speaker. She spoke at the Heartland Conference for several years when I was involved with the chapter. I have had a front-row seat to watching her grow and become one of the sought-after speakers. When we recorded this episode, she had broken her glasses right before we met. I wanted to put that out there in case she looks lopsided.

Last year I started to do these Top Ten episodes in April, and I did my last one in July. At that time, I asked the show guests one common question. “What is the future of business analysis in the next five years?” Their answers revolved around business analysis having a great future, but many felt that the title of Business Analyst might decline. In the next five years, Business Analysis will be one of the largest growing occupations. Many people are BAs and don’t realize that is what they are doing. As we fast forward one year, what a difference a year makes. Artificial Intelligence, known as “AI,” has lit the world. I am always a bit late to the party, but Angela and I have used AI and continue learning to be more proficient using it.

Yes, it all comes down to algorithms and analytics. Feel free to share my YouTube channel with your network. I hope all of you enjoy these shows as much as we enjoy doing them. Until next time, please keep your glass at least half-full.
