Central Iowa Business Development Day

This is about the final stop in my Bucket List Tour. After arriving home on Wednesday evening, we left for Des Moines, IA, the next morning. I had Terry with me this time to split the two-hour drive. We saw the newly renovated Prairie Meadows Hotel when we arrived, and I promptly took a nap. The speaker’s dinner was terrific, where I met many new people and renewed old friendships. The most special was meeting Saby Waraich in person. I had only been with him on virtual presentations. I also reconnected with Ann Stough, whom I had not seen since probably 2010.

This was the second IBADD in person since 2019. This also marked the third conference I spoke at in person for the first time. This part of my bucket list is complete. This edition of IBADD was smaller than Pre-COVID, but it will return in the upcoming years. They had 500-plus attendees in the past and sometimes would have a second day of workshops. I spoke twice at IBADD. In the morning, I presented “Why Great Leaders Have an Athletic Coach Mindest.” I had given this same presentation a few days before at the MSP PDD. Here is a link to a video of the first few minutes. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEA21xMM0lk. While visiting my YouTube channel, please subscribe, like, and comment.

This presentation went well, just like it did in Minnesota. In the afternoon, I presented “Number One Priority in Successful Change Projects,” and my audience was smaller. Still, many people attended because they had been on unsuccessful change projects. I could tell I resonated with many of my stories. I know that I speak better from the heart and about things I am passionate about. Someone took pictures of me saying, so I need to search for them.

My next blog post will be a wrap-up of the entire tour. I am so excited about how good I feel, but people also tell me how healthy I look. I will share my fall tour taking shape in future posts and blogs. I also have a few large projects I am working on that I will share by July. Until next time, please keep your glass at least half-full.
