THE FIRST TRIP

I just got back from ten days of travel. My destinations were Kansas City, MO & KS and Albuquerque, NM. I first had lunch with the person behind The Optimistic BA, Biaka. Two days was spent with the IIBA KC Board of Directors at the KCBADD. It was a great conference and KC has a crackerjack board. Two days went by fast with speakers dinner, conference and happy hour afterwards. A 3:30 am UBER ride and off in a jet plane to Albuquerque. I slept through both flights and upon arrival followed up with an all day nap. My weekend was low key until my playmates arrived on Sunday. I got some work accomplished on the trip but not as much as I wanted to do.

We were in Albuquerque for five days and it was the first PMBA in Albuquerque. There were great speakers, happy hours, dinners, and as always lots of laughter. Many of my favorites were in town especially Danelkis my partner in crime. There were restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and I was pleased I could walk to them. I feel so good as opposed to one year ago, it is almost like a new world. I flew back to KC Thursday and Terry picked me up to drive back to Omaha. I had been to Albuquerque before but not the Old Town part. I have been hunkered down in my home office this weekend between thousands of emails, BA Jam & preparing for BA School Day.

The thing many people don’t realize is when you are with a group of your BA friends, you are with your other family. The BA speaker arena just isn’t that large and everyone roots for each other which is important. Next up is the trip to Boston on October 15th. I have never been to Boston and that is exciting. Until next time, please keep your glass at least half-full.
